Seven penguins that were rescued after they were attacked by a dog were released back into the ocean in Australia, Wednesday, October 23. The penguins were attacked in August and 42 baby penguins perished, Tasmanian local media reported. The eight survivors were nursed back to health after weeks of rehab and care from the Penguin Rehab and Release organization. One wasn’t fit enough to swim yet, but seven of the penguins were released before sunrise. Volunteers are hoping the eight will be well enough to be released soon.
